I’m Here to Help Asheville and WNC: Sharing Your Stories, Connecting Resources
As many of you know, Asheville was my home for many years, and my heart breaks for the entire Western North Carolina community and the Southeast after Hurricane Helene’s devastation. My largest contribution right now is sharing your stories— the good, the bad, and the ugly, as well as what comes next as the road to rebuild is a long one. To note, immediate needs will need to be completed first such as preparing for the upcoming cold front, outlying areas still need immediate support and people just need resources.
I want to create a series tailored to each person or family affected by this tragedy in WNC. I also want to hear from those involved in the rescue efforts—federal responders, first responders, donation distribution teams, medical teams, civilian teams with disaster experience and teams from power and water companies—once you’ve all had some rest.
My purpose is to focus on everyone affected, in every way, and to partner with my networks to provide aid, align people with the resources they need, and offer help wherever I can. Sharing true accounts of what happened can be therapeutic, cut through misinformation, and provide positive perspectives, resources, and actionable steps to rebuild. Please during this time as strong as everyone is keep a space to protect and nourish your mental health. There is a lot of love and help continuing to come your way.
I’m grateful to hear from those who’ve been able to communicate and can’t wait to hear from the rest of you. There’s still so much uncertainty ahead, but we’re in this together. Stay strong, Asheville, WNC, and the Southeast! If this interests you, please reach out. I will do what I can to help. Please message or email staythecourseover@gmail.com.
